Quick Shine® Q & A

BT3A4031

At Quick Shine®, we know how important it is to keep your floors looking their best. Whether you’re using our Floor Finish, Hardwood Floor Luster, or our cleaners, you might have a few questions along the way. No worries—we’ve got you covered! Here are some Quick Shine Q & A of the most common questions we hear from Quick Shine® users, along with expert answers to keep your floors shining.

Q: Where can I find Quick Shine® Floor Finish or Quick Shine® Hardwood Floor Luster?

A: You can find our Floor Finish and Hardwood Floor Luster at most major retailers and even some local stores near you. To check availability in your area, use our Store Locator to see where you can pick up your favorite Quick Shine® products.

Q: I accidentally got some Floor Finish on my table. How do I remove it without causing damage?

A: Accidents happen! If you get Floor Finish or Hardwood Floor Luster on your table, countertop, or even walls and appliances, don’t worry—it’s easy to clean up. Just spray a little Windex or Formula 409 on the area, let it sit for a minute, and wipe it away with a damp cloth or sponge.

Q: After applying Quick Shine® Floor Finish, what should I use to clean my floors?

A: To keep your floors looking great, we recommend using our Quick Shine® Multi-Surface Floor Cleaner with a microfiber pad or our Multi-Surface Spray Mop. However, after applying Floor Finish, wait 4-5 days before using any liquid cleaner to allow the finish to fully cure. In the meantime, you can dust mop to remove dirt and debris.

Q: I used Quick Shine® Floor Cleaner, but my floors aren’t shiny. What happened?

A: Great question! Quick Shine® is our brand name, but not every product in our lineup is designed to add shine. Our Floor Cleaners, including Quick Shine® Multi-Surface Floor Cleaner and Quick Shine® Hardwood Floor Cleaner, are made for everyday cleaning. If you want to add shine, apply Quick Shine® Floor Finish or Quick Shine® Hardwood Floor Luster for that beautiful, glossy look.

Q: My floors look streaky and cloudy after applying Quick Shine® Floor Finish. What went wrong?

A: Streaking or cloudiness can happen for a few reasons:
1️⃣ Not applying enough product—this can often be corrected with another coat.
2️⃣ Residue from previous cleaners (like vinegar solutions or other brands’ products) reacting with the Floor Finish.
3️⃣ Using the same applicator pad for both cleaning and applying the finish.
4️⃣ Applying additional coats too soon—make sure each coat is fully dry before adding another.
5️⃣ Trying to apply too many coats in a short time.

If you’re experiencing streaks, don’t worry! You can remove buildup with our Quick Shine® Deep Cleaner/Wax Remover and start fresh.

I moved a very light chair with soft plastic feet on our LVP floor and now the Quick Shine Floor Finish is scuffed. So, now what?

      Hi Howard,
We recommend trying to buff the scuff with a soft cloth or tennis ball to create friction and warm up the Finish to shine again. If that does not work, you can spot-treat the area with ammonia and hot water. Mix 2-3 tbsp. of Ammonia per 1/2 cup of HOT water and apply to the area. Let it sit for 2-3 minutes and wipe it away. Once that area is clean and dry, simply reapply the Finish to blend.

I recently used this product in my LVP and noticed scratches everywhere from my two dogs. Did I not put it on right? How to I safely remove so we don’t have to see the dog prints?

      Hi Jason,
We recommend applying a few coats of Finish initially for added durability. For high traffic homes, you may need to reapply a new coat every 2-4 months when you start to see surface scratches. You can safely remove our Finish with Quick Shine Deep cleaner.

I used a microfiber mop head to apply QuickShine Floor Finish. It looks great on my floor, but unfortunately I let the residue dry on the mop head. Is there any way to get the dried product out of the microfiber cloth, or do I just need to dispose of the mop head?

      Hi Simon,
We recommend soaking your microfiber pad in 1 cup of Ammonia and 1/2 gallon of HOT water for 30-45 minutes to release the polymer from the pad and soften the fibers again.

      Hi Pirom,

You should try disconnecting the two pole pieces of the mop and then reconnecting. It is also important that you do not use our Finish in the spray mop as it can clog the spray mechanism.

      Hi Gracelyn,

We recommend Windex (Original Formula) or Formula 409 spray. Simply spray affected areas of the wall and let sit 1 minute before gently wiping away. This method has worked well for other consumers with similar issues.

I bought a Quick Shine mop and loved it. After using it twice to clean my floor the handle which allows the spray locked. I was unable to unlock it myself (could not squeeze it) and finally asked the maintenance man in my building for help. He was able to unlock it but the next time I tried to use it, it broke. Assuming it was something I did,I bought another. After one use the squeeze handle locked again and when I asked for help, when squeezed, it broke. Now I have two broken mops, several bottles of liquid cleaner and shine, and no way to use it. What am I doing wrong? According to the maintenance man in my building it is just a bad product. Now what do I do?

      Hi Sandra,
Can you confirm if you have been using our Quick Shine Finish in your spray mop. Unfortunately, this can cause the sprayer to clog and malfunction. Quick Shine Spray Mop should only be used with Quick Shine Cleaners.

What to do to keep Quick Shine off of painted baseboards while using mop application? Just wondering if it gets on will it be visible?

We recommend squirting the finish away from any baseboards or walls so avoid overspray. Push the mop head towards the baseboards instead when spreading the finish. You may notice some glossy spots on your baseboards if not.
