Quick Shine® Q & A

BT3A4031

At Quick Shine®, we know how important it is to keep your floors looking their best. Whether you’re using our Floor Finish, Hardwood Floor Luster, or our cleaners, you might have a few questions along the way. No worries—we’ve got you covered! Here are some Quick Shine Q & A of the most common questions we hear from Quick Shine® users, along with expert answers to keep your floors shining.

Q: Where can I find Quick Shine® Floor Finish or Quick Shine® Hardwood Floor Luster?

A: You can find our Floor Finish and Hardwood Floor Luster at most major retailers and even some local stores near you. To check availability in your area, use our Store Locator to see where you can pick up your favorite Quick Shine® products.

Q: I accidentally got some Floor Finish on my table. How do I remove it without causing damage?

A: Accidents happen! If you get Floor Finish or Hardwood Floor Luster on your table, countertop, or even walls and appliances, don’t worry—it’s easy to clean up. Just spray a little Windex or Formula 409 on the area, let it sit for a minute, and wipe it away with a damp cloth or sponge.

Q: After applying Quick Shine® Floor Finish, what should I use to clean my floors?

A: To keep your floors looking great, we recommend using our Quick Shine® Multi-Surface Floor Cleaner with a microfiber pad or our Multi-Surface Spray Mop. However, after applying Floor Finish, wait 4-5 days before using any liquid cleaner to allow the finish to fully cure. In the meantime, you can dust mop to remove dirt and debris.

Q: I used Quick Shine® Floor Cleaner, but my floors aren’t shiny. What happened?

A: Great question! Quick Shine® is our brand name, but not every product in our lineup is designed to add shine. Our Floor Cleaners, including Quick Shine® Multi-Surface Floor Cleaner and Quick Shine® Hardwood Floor Cleaner, are made for everyday cleaning. If you want to add shine, apply Quick Shine® Floor Finish or Quick Shine® Hardwood Floor Luster for that beautiful, glossy look.

Q: My floors look streaky and cloudy after applying Quick Shine® Floor Finish. What went wrong?

A: Streaking or cloudiness can happen for a few reasons:
1️⃣ Not applying enough product—this can often be corrected with another coat.
2️⃣ Residue from previous cleaners (like vinegar solutions or other brands’ products) reacting with the Floor Finish.
3️⃣ Using the same applicator pad for both cleaning and applying the finish.
4️⃣ Applying additional coats too soon—make sure each coat is fully dry before adding another.
5️⃣ Trying to apply too many coats in a short time.

If you’re experiencing streaks, don’t worry! You can remove buildup with our Quick Shine® Deep Cleaner/Wax Remover and start fresh.

i just used this product on my kitchen floors…it worked well, but it is giving off a REALLY strong moldy odor. I’ve never had this happen before with this product. is it possible for it to expire or mold?

      Hi Rebecca,

Thank you for reaching out to us. If you can provide the lot number located on the back of the bottle near the cap I can have our Chemist test that lot for any discrepancies. There is no shelf life on our products so it should still perform correctly. Did the smell ever dissipate? Please contact customer service with that number at 800-255-1891 and we can assist you further. Thank you for being a good customer.

          Hi Evelyn,
Although the finished product was manufactured this year, certain raw materials used in the formula can naturally carry variances in scent from batch to batch. These variations can occur due to natural variation in raw materials or oxidation of one of the ingredients.

While the formula may be fully within quality and safety specifications, an unexpected raw material odor can still impact the fragrance. We want to assure you there are no harsh chemicals in our formula and the performance of the product is not affected.

You can clean the floors with a pH neutral cleaner to see if that helps remove any unwanted odors that are still present.

I have been using quick shine floor finish on my wood laminate flooring as well as my vinial floors and never had a problem with build up or streaking. They look better than when they were new, and I slide my furniture across and have very little scratches, but a easy fix I will never change brands, (even though your not supposed to wax ) BEST LINE OF PRODUCTS BY FAR.
    THANK YOU

My contractor used quick shine as a cleaner and left my new engineered wood floors looking cloudy and streaky. I used the quick shine deep cleaner to remove the wax he applied on my door and remove the coat of wax. I know engineered wood floors come with a factory applied coating that’s very strong. My concern is, will quick shine deep cleaner effect or remove the factory coat?

      Hi Diana,

Our Quick Shine Deep Cleaner will not remove the factory finish on your engineered hardwood floors. It is the safest way to remove our Finish. If you have any questions about our Deep Cleaner, please contact customer service for assistance. We are always happy to help!

      Hi Bryan,

Yes, our Quick Shine Finish is safe for marble floors as well. We recommend to damp mop with cool water to remove previous cleaning residue prior to applying Quick Shine. #ShowUsYourShine

Hi – Can I use the Quick Shine Multi-surface Floor Finish and/or cleaner product on stained concrete floors? I recently moved into a new apartment with black stained concrete floors throughout and I would like to clean and shine the floors before moving in my new furniture.

        Hi,

You can try soaking your cleaning cartridge in ammonia and HOT water overnight to release the Finish that has clogged the spray mechanism. Unfortunately once Finish has clogged the spray mechanism, the spray mop may no longer work as this mop is only meant for cleaners. For more information, please contact customer service at 800-255-1891. We are always happy to help!

I recently applied a coat onto the floor using the squirt in an S motion and then mopping through it to spread evenly. After the coat dried I could clearly see every single squirt line on the floor so thinking it might not have smoothed out enough I did a second coat and it’s still there. Every drop that fell onto the floor is very visible even though my floors have never looked as good as they do now for a 1942 home, but those squirt marks are horrible.

      Hi Heather,

If our Quick Shine Finish was not spread out quickly or areas were missed and the Finish has already begun to set up, you can safely remove the compromised areas with our Quick Shine Deep Cleaner. The squirt marks and spots are able to be easily removed. Once the Finish has been removed from the areas, simply reapply a new coat of Finish to those areas only. If you have any questions about our Deep Cleaner, please contact customer service at 800-255-1891. We are always happy to help!

      Hi Debbie,

You can safely remove our Finish and start fresh again with our Quick Shine Deep Cleaner. This product was specifically developed to remove our Finish in this type of situation. Simply dilute 1 cup of Deep Cleaner with 1/2 gallon of HOT water and apply to small sections of the floor at a time. Allow solution to sit for 3 minutes before mopping away and finish with a clean water rinse. Once the entire floor is clean and dry, you can reapply our Finish. Our Deep Cleaner is available online at http://www.walmart.com, http://www.jet.com and http://www.quickshine.net or by calling customer service. If you have additional questions, please contact customer service at 800-255-1891. We are always happy to help!
