How To Choose The Right Floor Cleaner

Blog how to choose the right floor cleaner

A good floor cleaner effectively cleans the floors without streaking, hazing, or leaving dull residue behind. So how do you determine the best cleaner for your floors? Below are a few questions to ask yourself before choosing accordingly.

  • What condition are your floors in? In other words, are your floors dull and lifeless or brand new?
  • What material(s) are your floors? Hardwood, Laminate, Luxury Vinyl Plank, and Tile floors are a few common surfaces.
  • Are your floors sealed or unsealed? If you don’t know the answer to this question, simply drop a bit of water on the surface and if it beads up and doesn’t absorb into the floor, it is a sealed floor.
  • Choose plant-based cleaners. These are environmentally friendly products that do not have as much of an impact on the environment and are pet safe. Ok, so maybe this one isn’t a question but is incredibly important to get superior cleaning.

Quick Shine offers plant-based cleaning powered by baking soda for both Hardwood and Multi-Surface. If I am using Quick Shine multi surface floor finish on LVP floor, which floor cleaner should I use. Multi surface plant based cleaner is not available. Can I use Quick Shine Multi Surface Concentrated Floor Cleaner?

I used Quick Shine Floor Cleaner followed by Quick Shine Floor Finish. For my initial test spot I applied by hand and the results were great. I did the rest of my floor by mop and am left with cloudy, streaky floors that have a physical film on top. How do I fix that?

How did you resolve your quick shine issues with the haze? Are you going to use it again?

While looking for a hardwood floor cleaner that would remove scuff marks I came across your Daily Multi Surface Floor cleaner. The floors are real wood and I have cleaned and polished them last year. Discovering scuff marks, ,I wanted to find a solution that would remove the scuff marks. Your product claims to remove scuff marks. Since I have used Bona floor cleaners and polishes, your product didn’t do the job in removing the scuff marks.
I don’t want to strip the flooring and start afresh with your products. I was disappointed in your claim to remove even scuff marks. Thank you Mickie Speacht

      Hi Mickie,

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately with using Bona products, the scuff marks may be between layers of their polishes. Cleaners won’t remove the scuffs once embedded between coats of the polish. You can spot treat any scuffed area with our Quick Shine Deep Cleaner which will remove the polish down to the original floor so you can reapply a new coat to blend.
