How to Protect Your Floors When Moving Furniture

Moving furniture around your home—whether rearranging a room, making space for a new piano, or preparing for a flooring renovation—can be a challenge. Without proper precautions, heavy furniture can leave behind scratches, scuffs, and dents that are difficult to repair. Fortunately, with a few simple steps, you can protect your floors and keep them looking flawless.
Best Practices for Floor Protection
1. Use Doormats to Prevent Dirt and Moisture
Placing doormats at entryways helps reduce dirt, debris, and moisture that can make hardwood floors slippery and prone to damage. A high-quality doormat acts as the first line of defense against wear and tear.
2. Use Furniture Sliders for Heavy Objects
If lifting furniture isn’t an option, furniture sliders are a game-changer. These handy tools allow you to move heavy items across hardwood or tile floors with minimal friction. If you don’t have furniture sliders, cardboard or a ram board can serve as an alternative to prevent direct contact with the floor.
3. Protect Furniture Feet and Edges
To safeguard your hardwood floors, wrap table and chair legs in soft fabric or padding. This added layer of protection minimizes impact damage in case of accidental drops.
4. Add Felt Pads to Chairs and Furniture
Felt furniture pads or chair glides help prevent scratches and scuffs when moving furniture. Simply attach them to the bottom of furniture legs to reduce friction and protect the floor’s surface.
5. Consider Professional Moving Services
For large or valuable furniture pieces, hiring professional movers can save you time and effort while ensuring your floors remain unscathed. Experts have the right equipment and experience to handle heavy lifting safely.

I recently applied QuickShine Multi-Surface Floor Finish to my porcelain tile floors. I am very impressed and pleased with the results. I do have a couple of questions:
• How long is the finish good for before a new coat(s) is required for a lightly trafficked floor? 4-6 months
• Does the finish ever need to be removed with your deep clean product? You can remove our Finish if the floor becomes compromised by not properly maintaining the floor with Quick Shine Deep Cleaner
Thank you in advance for your help.
Cordially,

I just applied quick shine to my hardwood floors what’s the best thing to clean them with so I can keep the sunshine😍😍😍
Hi,
We recommend maintaining the shine with Quick Shine Multi-Surface or Hardwood Floor Cleaner. These pH neutral formulas will not dull the finish or leave sticky residue behind like other brands can. Dry dust often to keep dirt/debris to a minimum. 🤩
